INSERT FINAL PR
Medium: hand-dyed paper, collage, watercolor, ink, rubbing alcohol, wintergreen oil, and found materials
Collage as a medium: surrealist, highly strange, and dreamlike
Meaning: These works explore what it means to live beside the monsters we carry. Rather than recounting personal history, they trace how memory and dread blur over time, where beauty and unease share the same ground.
Vibe: shifting dreamscape of coexisting shadow/radiance
Historical importance/Jane Gallery Relevancy: Collage is usually attributed to Picasso and Braque in 1912, but modern western collage can be traced to Mary Delany’s 18th century Flower Mosaicks. Collage was a popular hobby, pastime, and demonstration of scholarship for Victorian women.
